Holiday Hostess Gifts

By {Amy}

It is that time of year for Holidays and the Holiday parties!  This is the best time of year and so much fun to celebrate with your closest family and friends.  Everyone knows that you can never show up empty handed.  Since I am traveling to go to these events, normally on planes, bottles of wines and baked goods will not cut it.  So here are a few of my favorite things to give. Hope this helps!

These are some of my favorite spices.  You can pretty much put them on anything to make it taste delicious, but best of all you can just add them to olive oil and have an enhanced bread dipping sauce.  I normally use a baguette or go to Jimmy John's and buy the day old bread, it is only $.99 and wonderful for dipping.  Believe me, it's delicious and a nice easy appetizer for your host to have on hand.  If you want to add a little something extra, pair with a nice bottle of olive oil.  When buying olive oil never buy anything in a clear bottle and make sure it is Extra Virgin Olive Oil, I like this one.

This Butter London Glam Rock nail polish set is perfect for any female host.  Also, after any event, your host will most definitely need to relax with one of these head massagers.  They may look funny, but believe me, it is amazing!

If it's a BYOB event, then why not bring you and your host a copper mug to drink your Moscow Mule in?  The mug always makes these taste so much better!

Finally holiday decorations are always a good idea.  I personally love pulling out all my decorations every November and reminiscing about the story of the people and events behind them.  If you know the person, try to stick with their holiday color scheme.  Some people like red and green while others {like me} may stick to having everything in gold and silver and sparkles whenever possible!

Shop Review {Southern Hippie}

By {Molly}

Southern Hippie has everything I love in the name so I knew I'd adore everything inside. It's tucked into quint Georgetown, TX just north of Austin. The owner, Elizabeth, is so effortlessly cool that everyone wants to know her secret.  It doesn't hurt that her style is impeccable so everything that makes up Southern Hippie and Baby Hippie are "need in your closet now" items.

Elizabeth boasts the best brands around such as Wildfox, Naven, FindersKeepers, Lovers & Friends, Show Me Your Mumu, Line & Dot, Stela9 and many many more. She drives an Airstream that can still be found in Dallas, Austin and other places now and again bringing you the best hand-picked pieces. Below is just a sampling of what you will find in store.

The best thing about Southern Hippie is that she just launched a website! You can shop here 24/7  from outside Texas.  I made 2 purchases in the last few weeks, both of which had been on my wish list for a long time. A fur vest for my new niece Jemma {yes she's a 5 month old baby} and this shirt {which is now sold out}.  This sweatshirt, this bag, this bracelet, and probably even this  are up next on my list.  Honestly, if the whole store was in my closet I'd be happy.

Follow Elizabeth on her Southern Hippie Facebook page, Baby Hippie Facebook page, and on Twitter for up to the minute offerings.

30 Days of Fur {Thanksgiving Week}

By {Molly}

Jeans {7 For All Mankind} // Sweater {JCrew Old, Cute One Here!} // Chambray Shirt {JCrew} // Vest { Old, Similar Here} // Boots {Old, Similar Here}

I took Wednesday off last week since I knew my sister and her new twins were going to be here for a whole day of play time. I wanted to be super comfortable so I could get on the floor and really get some one on one Aunt Molly time.

Luckily it worked. I had a baby in my hands almost the whole day, except when they were sleeping.  I love JCrew's sweaters like this one. They are super thin which makes them perfect for Dallas weather but easily layered when it gets a little bit colder. The lobster is the perfect touch to give the outfit more character!

If you haven't donated yet for Movember you need to do it today! There isn't much time now that November is over. If you need a reminder on WHY I'm doing it read this here. Click here to donate!

30 Days of Fur {Granny's Fur}

This fur was a special day. My sister and her twins came down to Dallas for Thanksgiving. I stumbled upon this small fur vest at Baby Hippie/Southern Hippie in Georgetown, TX.  I knew immediately it had to be Jemma's.  It's a little on the big side but she'll grow into it and she'll be the perfect little hippie.

My fur today is also really special. It was my Granny's {mom's mom} and was passed down to my mom after she past away. Lucky for me, it's already destined to be past down to me "once I live in a house and not an apartment" as my mom said. Until then it's at my sisters house. I used the opportunity of being over there for Thanksgiving to finally get a little wear out of it. I think my mom as thrilled!

P.S. You still have a little time to get your Movember donations in but HURRY! Click here to donate.

30 Days of Fur {Tailgate... A Cold One...}

By {Molly}

Coat {Old, Similar Here} // Jeans {Koral, Black & White Version Here. Both on major sale!} // Vest {Old, Similar Here} // Boots {Old, Similar Here} // Hat {Target}

So when I planned doing 30 Days of Fur I knew good and well I'd be attending the Kansas State vs Oklahoma game this past weekend. What I didn't know was that it was going to be 25 - 38 degrees that day. Gross.

So it's not cute but I bragged before about making a fur vest tailgate appropriate so I felt like I had to actually post these pictures.... I tried the best I could. I had leggings on under my {purple} jeans, 5 shirts on under this puffy coat and 2 pairs of socks {not near enough}.  It was freezing but we had a blast at the tailgate and romping around our old stomping grounds {Aggieville} after the game so it was well worth it.

Did I catch my glove on fire holding it above a burner to try to warm my hands? Yes I did that. When your glove has little plastic grips on it keep it away from the flame. Even if you can't really feel your hand anymore because it's so cold.

We are nearing the end of November aka Furvember. Don't forget to donate! Your time is almost up!

xoxo,
Molly
