The Coconut Cooler {Cascade Cooler}

Chicago is starting to make me believe spring will never arrive.  So I have decided to will winter away by my outfits and cocktails.  I have given up on wearing sweaters completely and have packed away all my winter hats, hopefully I won't freeze.  I have also started making some Caribbean inspired cocktails, here is one that includes gelato!

Start off with one heaping spoonful of Talenti Caribbean Coconut Gelato in a martini glass.  If you haven't tried these before, then you should!   Pour 1 part Brinley Shipwreck Spiced Rum and Two Parts Cascade Ice Coconut flavored sparkling water.  I have made all sorts of cocktails with Cascade Ice, they have so many flavors {Blueberry Watermelon, my other favorite flavor} to choose from and they are zero calories and sugar free.  I like that they add flavor without adding to much sweetness to the cocktail.  Finally Garnish with any fresh fruit, I used pear and pineapple.  Enjoy!!

Don't forget to vote for my Coconut Cooler here!

Amy

Health Trend // Maple Water

I'm sure by now everyone has jumped on the coconut water bandwagon. If you haven't, where have you been living? Even if you don't believe the hoop-la {yes, hoop-la} surrounding it, I'm positive you've tasted it. Even if you've only tasted it to, then spit it back out, you've tried it.

I personally was a HUGE fan. Then I just let it fade away and didn't want to drink my calories anymore. I buy Almond Milk so that I don't waste milk calories in my cereal. I'd rather eat a plate of french fries and a cupcake. Yes, while we're at it, I am the poster child of health.

Anyhow, the new drink fad to hit the streets now is Maple Water. It sounds weird, and stupidly sweet but apparently it's not. It was developed at Cornell and is simply the water that flows through a maple tree. While usually boiled down and used for maple syrup no one ever thought to just try the water, until now. It has huge benefits like, yes, less calories than Coconut Water, but you also get the electrolytes and magnesium, not to mention a ton less sugar.

I'm going to the store tomorrow morning, first thing, to try to track this thing down.  I'll let you know the verdict when I do.

Did you fall victim to the Coconut Water trend?

Spring Lust List // 20 Things

By {Molly}

Spring seems to finally be showing it's pretty head all over the country {maybe not all over... my brother in D.C. had a snow day yesterday}. At the very least spring is here in Phoenix and it's making me want to throw away all my sweaters {don't worry I won't} and break out everything spring, from skin care, to shoes, to decor.

Here are just a few 20 things I'm seriously lusting after.

New Home // New Decor

By Molly

I recently moved to Phoenix. Surprise! We are finally mostly unpacked and at least the living room/dining room area is decorated but I'm feeling a little tired of my decor I've had now for 6 years. I don't want a total overhaul but a new coffee table {must}, and some cute rugs would really spruce this place right up. I also really want a bar cart. I've told my boyfriend this maybe... 1,543 times. At this point when I mention it he simply says, "I had no idea you wanted one.".

I can't stop myself from perusing The Everygirl home tours which has been my favorite site for a while now. I love getting a glimpse into other girls in their 20's/30's lives.

Here are some of my favorite's... click over to The Everygirl too but only if you have hours to spend losing yourself in the pictures.

Hopefully I'll be done and will take pictures of our new home in Phoenix soon!

Molly
