How to Wash Denim {Don't...}

It's that age old question we always talk about {or is that just me?}. How do you wash your jeans? If you wash them in the washing machine you run the risk of fading and breaking down the denim. If you don't wash them, well people will mistake you for a homeless person.

I had heard about putting your jeans in the freezer before but was really reluctant to try it. Why would I do that? There's no way that works.

Well after buying my new favorite pair of coated black, wine, and purple skinnies I decided I had to try something otherwise these three pairs were never getting washed.  They aren't even real denim but I popped them in the freezer and they smelled as fresh and clean the next morning!

It turns out it actually gets rid of most of the bacteria on denim.  No it's not 100% effective but it's a lot better then getting your favorite pair of jeans out of the dryer and realizing they don't look the same. Or hang drying your jeans only to have to force on a pair of stiff uncomfortable fabric.

Try it... you won't be disappointed. Your boyfriend/husband might think you're crazy but chances are he already does...

Window Shopping Wednesday {Target}

By {Morgan}

I am in the market for a coffee table, so naturally I was browsing the furniture isles on the last trip to Target. I didn't find the perfect coffee table for my living room, but I did fall in love with several pieces of furniture currently in the store. It was fun to 'window shop' and dream up fabulous spaces these items would work in.
Then I thought it might be fun to take you all 'window shopping' with me every Wednesday. My hope is that it will inspire you in the realms of decor & fashion. And if your looking for a particular item, maybe you'll see it posted here and I can save you from physically searching multiple stores looking for it.
There are a lot of fabulous and beautiful things in retail stores all over, but it's not realistic to continuously fill your home and closets with items just because they are fabulous and beautiful.
{Well, sometimes it is...}
But if you have a coffee table, you have a coffee table, and don't need one every time you see one you like.
Window shopping is a way to admire lovely things, be inspired by them, but keep the cash in the bank.

Here's some of my favorite furniture finds this week at Target:

Threshold Woven Jute Bench - Multicolored
If you're looking to bring in pops of color, this bench would look great in an entryway, or at the foot of a bed. There are also adorable smaller, side tables in this design.

Threshold Wood and Brass Finish Bar Cart
I've been swooning over this bar cart since I first laid eyes on it last year.
There are so many cute ways to style a bar cart for your living room, kitchen, dining room, bathroom, guest room, etc. etc.!

Threshold Scalloped Wall Mirror
This cream mirror would be cute in a bedroom, hallway or on a gallery wall. The scalloped edges gives it a sweet, feminine feel.

Threshold Woven Cotton and Jute Bench
Again, I love the woven top and wood legs. This would be awesome in an entry way, or with a wood serving tray, it becomes a functional coffee table.

Threshold Square Accent Table - black & gold
I love, love this. I have a lot of yellow in my living room and I am worried the gold will clash.
If it was longer, I would have been so tempted though! The simple lines are fabulous.

Folding Chairs / Perforated Teal & Red
If you need a few folding chairs for extra seating indoor or out, why not have these cute chairs in your closet!

Carlisle Metal Barstools
These come in yellow, gray, green, black and bronze.
The industrial feel and fun color would look funky surrounded by neutrals.
They come at barstool & counter height.

Carlisle Dining Chair
I think they would look awesome at the 2 head seats at a long table that has other wooden chairs on the sides. When my craft studio gets a makeover, I will purchase these chairs.

Dakota Adjustable Stool
Can you tell I like the mix of metal & wood. A good industrial feel that you used to have a pay a pretty penny for is now affordable!

Too bad I wasn't look for chairs/stools. I would have done well for myself.
Here are a few other furniture {and some accessory} favorites from Target!

Golden Globes {Best & Worst}

By {Molly}

I have to say that I'm underwhelmed. Maybe I'm always underwhelmed because I'm expecting to be blown off my feet? Who knows, no matter the reason, there was a lot of black, color blocking, short sleeves, and bad 90's prom. Let's just get straight to the point. Here are my personal favorite/least favorites.

This might possibly be my favorite. I love the geometric gold lines and the color. It's elegant but has a fun whimsical spirit which I feel is perfect for a show like the Globes.

I am a big Mad Men fan. Did I watch all the seasons on NetFlix within a month period? Yes. Have I watched since? No. But I loved every second I watched on NetFlix. To the point, I love this look. It's gorgeous, intricate, sexy, and amazing.

The reason why I love this look is simple. She totally played this straight from American Hustle and I adore her for it. I feel like she could have stepped off the red carpet in the 70's and she's killing it in 2014.

Hottest pregnant lady I've ever seen. If you disagree then please send me a picture of a hotter pregnant women and I would be happy to take this back... I'll wait patiently.

I hate to say this is where my least favorites begin. They all have a major theme... they remind me of the 90's, and not in a good way. I just really feel like a girl I went to high school with wore this to prom, and I went to prom in 2003.

I'm a little scared about this one, not the dress, but putting Sandra Bullock in my worst dressed list. I feel like maybe someone is going to come out of the dark shadows of my living room and throw my computer away and threaten me. Well, this is the biggest risk of my life but I don't like this dress. I don't hate the top, when they show her at table she looks gorgeous! Waste down? Throw this away...

I wish I could sympathize with getting dressed pregnant {wait... actually no I don't}, but I can't.  However, after seeing Olivia Wilde I KNOW you can do better than this. Did you forget you were going to the Globes tonight and put on the nursery curtains? Drew, you are gorgeous and I die for your red lip and glowy pregnant skin... just find a different stylist.

I love Heidi but even more I love Marchesa. It's one of my favorite lines of all time. What kills this look for me is the hair and the necklace. Oh the necklace... I hate you. The claustrophobia you make me feel, the 90's fashion you make me remember which makes me want to cry.

Molly

Seriously Cute Coats for Seriously Cold Weather

By {Arielle}

Holy crap its cold!  It doesn't matter where you live in the U.S. right now, it's freaking freezing outside {except for south Florida - so jelly}.  When the temperature plummets like this it's tempting to just pile on clothes until we look like marshmallows so we can stay warm.  Well I'm all about staying warm - believe me - but why not look cute while doing it?  When fashion and function meet it's a beautiful thing.  Below are some adorable coats that will keep you nice and toasty.

New Years Resolutions? Nope.

By {Molly}

I've written down my New Years resolutions about 5 times in the last couple weeks. Each time I think... this seems familiar? Oh yeah, it's the same list from last year. Same things about myself I wanted to change 1 year ago and still have yet to do anything about.  Then it hit me. Why do we spend the end of the year and beginning of the next talking about things we want to do differently.  Why don't we focus on talking about what we liked about the previous year and want to keep in our lives? I don't know about you but starting a clean slate isn't easy when you have a list of things you wish you would've done or want to change about yourself staring you in the face.

Honestly, I think if I stop writing it down every year I will actually get healthy, travel more, learn French, and learn website design. I think it's just sitting in front of my face and intimidating me. List be gone! 2013 was a great year for me and I'd rather reflect on it in a positive light. My amazing boyfriend who makes me incredibly happy everyday, who pushes me to be a better person, and loves me for me. His adorable dog who stole my heart one snuggle at a time. My new niece and nephew who fill me with constant joy and amazement. And last but not least this blog, all of which came about in 2013.

So don't tell me what you want to do differently. I want to know what were your favorite parts of 2013. Why was it a great year for you?  It doesn't mean we aren't ready for 2014. I think we are all going to kick the shit out of this year and every year after just like we did 2013.

xoxo,
Molly
